Why do I want to help NAMF: I have been a nurse for 33 years and have been on the Navajo Reservation since 1996. My son, Peter "Alex" Flowers is the founder of the NAMF. He asked me to help raise funds for his classmates that could not afford to purchase an instrument. That Christmas, we purchased over $18,000 and bought guitars and keyboards for the children. It sparked a passion in me, and I have been helping since the beginning in 2013. So many children have come to me and asked for help. We have never turned any request down. It is my passion to help the children and keep the music alive on the Rez and around the World.

Why do I want to help NAMF: My grandmother encouraged me to play piano and sing. When the opportunity to help serve my local community was presented, i remembered my grandmother. It was amazing to see Alex and his family provide so many young people with instruments to inspire them. I believe in the healing power of music. When the workshops began in order to give the students lessons in leaning how to play the intruments given, I jumped right in helping in any way that was needed. I look forward to helping serve this wonderful charitable organizaiton that provides hope, dreams, and skills the kids will take into the future.
